Disappointment as towns miss out on culture prize

It's a bit of a blow for our local towns, isn't it? Newbury, along with Slough and Woodley, won't be in the running for the UK Town of Culture award 2028, and there's definitely a feeling of disappointment. We'll have to keep cheering on our fantastic local arts and culture scene right here in West Berkshire!
